Welcome to Stoney Creek Lodge, nestled in the breathtaking Gariwerd/Grampians National Park. Formerly Camp Acacia, it has been reimagined by Absolute Outdoors to provide sustainable group accommodation, catering, and outdoor education programs

The Philosophy

Stoney Creek Lodge is transforming. Its bones provide a strong foundation and its location is unbeatable, now, Absolute Outdoors is applying its philosophy to this site to create something even better.

Sustainability

Sustainability is at the core of everything we do. We're committed to minimizing our environmental impact and educating visitors about responsible practices. With a history dating back to the 1950s, we have a long list of projects to improve the sustainability of our site including electrification, solar, waste management, native landscape and regenerative farming

Education

Stoney Creek Lodge is a centre for outdoor and environmental education and a shining example of how sustainability can be approached. We are surrounded by the perfect classroom to learn about and connect with nature and ourselves, whether a school, corporate or family group, our learning journey never stops!

Culture

We are privileged to live and work in Gariwerd, one of the most significant cultural landscapes in southeastern Australia. We celebrate and share the stories and traditions of the region, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation. Partnering with local Traditional Owners we have developed a range of experiences from formal welcomes to cultural education sessions.

The Facility

Lodge Accommodation

Basic lodge accommodation for your school camp or family group comprising of:

  • 12 x bunk rooms - sleeping 8 each

  • Shared bathroom facilities

  • 2 x twin share cabins with ensuites

  • ​Total site capacity of 98

Dinning and Recreation Hall

The hub of the lodge! This large hall provides ample dining space for guests as well as recreation space. Indoor activities in poor weather, movie nights, or other activities. The adjoining lounge allows a separate break-out space for other activities or a little peace and quiet.

The attached, newly renovated commercial kitchen is the perfect facility to cater for your group needs whether it be under your own steam or using our full catering services.

The Perfect Location

Based centrally in Halls Gap, we're a 2-minute walk to cafes, shops and the general store. Right across the road from the recreation reserve, we also have unbeaten access to the national park with a minute's walk from popular walking trails such as Venus Baths, Chautauqua Peak, Clematis Falls and the Fyans Creek trail to Boronia Peak.

Compliment your accommodation booking with safe and sustainable adventure activities! Whether for a corporate or family group or for a school camp, our experienced guides can facilitate activities to ensure your objectives are met. Activities include:

  • Rock climbing

  • Abseiling

  • Canoeing

  • Mountain biking

  • Hiking

Outdoor Education Programs

Premier Outdoor Adventure activities for education providers including overnight journey programs, hard top camp programs in conjunction with local school camps, rock climbing, abseiling, canoeing and mountain biking.  These programs bring children and young people into the Grampians region, exposing them to the wonders of this incredible natural world, equipping them with the skills to continue adventuring after they leave.

Adventure Activities
