The numerous awards and local and national recognition Absolute Outdoors (formally Grampians Adventure Services) has received highlights our commitment to personalised customer service and to the outdoor education and recreation industry as a whole. National, State and Regional awards for excellence are all among our achievements including awards for customer service and environmental awareness and commitment. A number of these awards are listed below followed by a few testimonials from satisfied customers.
National Awards
In February 2005, at a ceremony held at the Alice Springs Convention Centre, we were recognised as a 2005 Australian Tourism Finalist reflecting our contribution to Australian Tourism in the Adventure Tourism Category. This followed success at the previous awards year in winning the Australian Adventure Tourism Award, which was the first time a Victorian company had ever won this prestigious recognition.
State Awards
In 2004 we were presented with the Victorian Tourism Awards Winners Trophy recognising our contribution to Victorian Tourism and the quality of our services in the Adventure Tourism Category. This was the company’s third win in a row. At a presentation in January, we were formally inducted into the Victorian Tourism Hall of Fame. On this night it was noted that the company had been Victoria’s most successful State and National Adventure Tourism business since the Tourism Awards commenced 20 years ago.
Regional Awards
In 2005, we won the Grampians Pyrenees Tourism Business of the year for the third time, the Grampians Pyrenees Award of Merit for Environmental Contribution and Sustainability, and the Grampians Pyrenees Overall Business of the year. This was the second time that the company has won this award. This award is judged against all businesses, educational institutions, manufacturers, tourism business and retailers from the entire Grampians Pyrenees region.
